State of Place & Mayors - A Mutual Love Fest

A few weeks ago, State of Place, along with 100s of other hopeful startups, applied to Civic I/O’s Mayoral Challenge. Civic I/O has a vision not too dissimilar from that of State of Place’s - to connect city officials with tech-enabled solutions that will help them meet their goals (and of course, for us that means fostering more just, thriving communities). For several years now, Civic I/O has been convening mayors and other citymakers from all over the U.S. to facilitate innovation and partnerships between entrepreneurs, civic partners, and the private sector. As part of this work, Civic I/O has been hosting a Mayoral Pitch Challenge - and while it’s been on a brief hiatus because of Covid, this year it’s back, live at South by Southwest (SXSW)…and drumroll please, we are count them, ONE of SIX startups chosen as finalists who will present and pitch their citymaking solutions to mayors from all walks of life.

We are SO very excited to announce this news and wanted to share the two-minute video we submitted as preview of what’s to come!
